Daniel Furseth has been a firefighter since
1987, starting with the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department. In 1999,
Daniel joined the DeForest Area Fire and EMS Department. He advanced to
Assistant Fire Chief and currently is a full-time police officer within the

regional and international vehicle extrication competitions and learning
symposiums.
Officer Furseth has developed and produced a
comprehensive vehicle extrication presentation, which includes supplemental
restraining systems, vehicle construction, new vehicle construction and
extrication techniques and safety for rescuers during post crash rescues.
Mr. Furseth continues to participate and share
his knowledge and experiences with the Medical College of Wisconsin Neuroscience
Research Laboratory in the crash injury extrication research
projects...ultimately helping save more lives.

Michael J. McNamara
Burlington Fire & Rescue
Department, Burlington, Ontario Canada

Michael McNamara has 26 years of experience in
the fire and emergency rescue services with the Burlington Fire Department,
Ontario, Canada. In 1994, he advanced to Captain and serves as an Acting Platoon
Chief.
In 1984, the Office of the Fire Marshall of Ontario originated the concept of
the International Automobile Extrication Challenge and Learning Symposium. Since
its inception and the dedication of individuals like Michael McNamara,
extrication challenges are taking place throughout Canada, United States, United

In 1987, Michael McNamara was an extrication team member of the Burlington
Extrication Team who participated in multiple extrication challenges and

participated in vehicle extrication challenges as competitor, head judge,
scoring coordinator, and safety officer in various international, national, and
regional challenges throughout the world.
Michael McNamara is a current member of the Transportation Emergency Rescue
Committee (hereinafter referred as TERC) and currently serves as the Chairman of
TERC Canada. In 1999, TERC Canada was formed and is a continued success in the
Provinces and Territories throughout Canada. He participated in a task force
that conducted research on current extrication technology in an effort to
develop extrication countermeasures for implementing and improving safe and fast
extrications. The Ontario Fire Marshals Office conducted this vehicle
extrication research.
Michael McNamara attended multiple extrication rescue courses in New York State
and Incident Command at Mass Casualty Incidents. He conducted and participated
in vehicle extrication seminars throughout the world, such as Vehicle
Construction and Safety Systems, Important Developments in Vehicle Extrication,
Hybrid and Alternate Fuel Source Vehicle Rescue Considerations.
Michael McNamara continues to consult with communities and professional rescue
agencies in upgrading emergency vehicle extrication techniques. He is
internationally recognized and considered an extrication specialist in the art
of relocating material and providing victims of entrapment with safe and fast
extrications. He has been an extremely dedicated, hard working rescuer who is a
tribute to the rescue profession.

Mark Meyers
Town of Madison Fire Department, Madison,
Wisconsin

Mark Meyers is a certified
Firefighter II and Fire Service Instructor by the State of Wisconsin. Currently,
he serves as a Fire Investigator and Firefighter/Paramedic for the Town of

Mark Meyers continues to share his expertise and knowledge by providing
instruction that prepares rescuers to quickly mitigate vehicle extrication of
entrapped victims to save time in the “Golden Hour”…ultimately saving more
lives. Mr. Meyers continues to participate in ongoing research endeavors between
the Medical College of Wisconsin Neuroscience Research Lab (MCW) and Safe And

Lieutenant James Olshanski

Lieutenant
James Olshanski began his career with the City of Brookfield Fire and Rescue
Department in 1990, was promoted to Lieutenant and is currently serving as the

Paul Simpson has 32 years of
experience in the fire, rescue, and emergency medical services with the
Mississauga Fire and Rescue Department in Mississauga, Canada. In 1988, he was

symposiums, regionally, national and internationally. Paul has been requested to
speak at vehicle extrication symposiums and has conducted advanced auto rescue
seminars in multiple TERC competitions. Mr. Simpson was selected to be the
Chairman of the Judges Selection Committee for TERC.

Mr. Wehr is the inventor of the GLAS-MASTER and a
member of the Who’s Who of American Inventors. He is a fire service instructor
in the State of Indiana and is a member of the International Society of Fire
Service Instructors. Additionally, he received the Firefighter of the Year award
in Shelby County (Indiana) in 1984 for a heroic vehicle rescue. He has over 30
