The Medical College of Wisconsin Neuroscience Research Labs and
Safe And
Fast
Extrication, Inc. are working together to provide an expert forum and state of the
art vehicle crash extrication research laboratory. This laboratory consists of
approximant 30,000 square feet of space with a full scale vehicle crash research
facilitate. This allows not only the crashworthiness of vehicles and potential
new safety technology, but also research the occupant response to this dangerous
impact environment. This collaborative research and devolvement is a vital
component needed for gathering information and the implementation of a uniform
state of the art vehicle extrication program.

Purpose
. To reduce motor vehicle injuries, reduce suffering and fatalities
. To identify, test and research conventional extrication techniques as well as
devolvement of countermeasure extrication techniques that would increase the
safety and efficiency of vehicle extrication rescue.
. To determine the skills and specifications required for the performance of one
or more feasibility countermeasures for safe and fast extrication.
Project Objective:
.Developed a “living curriculum” that maintains pace with the rapid changes in
vehicle safety and design.
.Implement a state of the art “Train the Trainer” certification program for
rescuers and instructors.
.Provide on going necessary vehicle extrication rescue research and devolvement
of up dated vehicle extrication knowledge and skills to increase the safety of
rescuers and increase the efficiency of vehicle extrications.

Every second saved through the uniform training, research, and devolvement can
make the difference between life and death. Saving lives needs to be a top
priority!
